The Mausoleum of Augustus

A sad ruin, melancholic from lost grandeur.

Its decline started in 410, when the Goths sacked the city; they stole the gold urns and scattered the imperial family's ashes. Over the centuries all the marble was stripped away as well, leaving this stone hulk.
