A new stone circle has been found on Dartmoor, in southwestern England, with first to be discovered in more than a century.
Once, long ago, I had one of the best days of my life hiking alone on Dartmoor. It was a misty, drizzly, day, and as I hiked across the bare hills toward the stone circle on my map the wind drove the fine spray into my face. At times the fog was so thick I could barely see thirty yards. I did not see another person all day.
When the standing stones rose up around me out of the mist it was like stepping into another world.
