A Thought about Britain

I wish I lived in a place where there are old trees with names, like the Whitechapel Mulberry. And with history: this is one of  half a dozen surviving mulberries in the east end of London that were planted during a fad for raising silk worms in the reign of James I.

Naming trees seems to me the sort of activity one engages in only in places that have far too few trees.

could a local audubon society be engaged to do some tree-naming with you and submit the results to your city council for vote on whether to adopt names?
