This short book, revised, improved, and expanded, is so good it is wasted on almost all of you.

Clicking through, the first comment argues that this is dripping sarcasm, and that in spite of appearances, Mr. actually Cowen thinks the book is trash which is beneath his readership. Huh. Okay, then? I don't have enough context to judge.
I tried reading more comments, but only made it through a few before the general tone and convoluted content began to rub me the wrong way, and led me to think perhaps that particular community is a bit fonder of naval-gazing and cynical "cleverness" than I am used to. (Which is not to suggest I am innocent of either behavior, to be clear.)
So, I walk away mystified, content to instead turn my thoughts elsewhere.
