Dawn Walden, Cedar Baskets

Dawn Walden is an Ojibway artist from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Above, one of a series titled Restless, 2015.

Another Restless piece. Walden says, "The maker becomes infused with the materials, and then the materials make the basket."

These are titled Random Order, which sounds more Brooklyn than Ojibway. She certainly can do amazing things with tree bark and roots.
