Telling Evolutionary Stories

Anthony Gottlieb explains why you should pay no attention to evolutionary theories of religion:
We do not even know why we are relatively hairless or why we walk on two legs, so finding the origin of religious belief is a tall order.
I find it useful, when contemplating our species, to remember that we still carry around much evolutionary wiring for living like smart baboons. But detailed stories about the origins of complex institutions like marriage or religion are just cocktail party chatter, not evolutionary science.
