Carving up books seems to be all the rage. I guess nobody reads encyclopedias or the like any more, so it's nice somebody has found a use for them. Besides the mad, anonymous book sculptor of Edinburgh, above, about whom I wrote
here and
here, I have lately seen several other book carvers on the art blogs.

the Book Surgeon, who likes to carve up medical textbooks and science reference books.
