Zeta Ophiuci, the bright blue star right under the red cloud in the center of the picture is a runaway star shooting through the galaxy a speed of 87,000 kilometers per second (relative to the stars around it.) Most likely it was blasted through space by a supernova. The picture was taken in infrared light by from NASA's WISE satellite.
