Who Wore Winged Helmets?

The Greeks, that's who.  Chalcidian-type helmet, 4th century BCE, recently sold by Christie's for $51,250.

I was under the impression that Chalcidian variety helmets possessed noseguards, and that this is technically an Attic style helmet?

It strikes me as odd that this distinction would be missed by a prestigious company like Christie's. Is it perhaps that they don't actually fact check these details, and simply restate whatever information they're given by the sellers, focusing exclusively on the auction aspect of things? I must confess, I've never thought to wonder about the particulars of their operations.
