The Helpful Family

My youngest daughter asked, from the front hallway, "Where is my other shoe?"

The assembled family members in the dining room, father and two brothers, answered,

"Exploded."
"Hyenas ate it."
"Gremlins turned it invisible."

But then we knew she would find it in the end.
