The 21-Story Icicle Tower

Last week in Chicago the sprinkler on the top floor of this building failed, sending a cascade of water down the fire escape. Where it froze into this.

There's a clever pun or joke somewhere in here remarking on the irony of a fire escape being covered in ice, but I just can't get a good grip on it, and I feel like if I try to force the issue I'll just wind up getting burned...
