Of course, Gandhi was widely traveled and highly educated, which strongly correlates with cosmopolitan thinking.
I can't help but wonder about the opinions of many of his more mundane and provincial followers, who never had such advantages. To some, it may well have seemed to be a terrible storm to be shut out, rather than a gentle breeze to be welcomed in.
