Nice line, and an interesting source: but I think religion is about much more than having a way of life.
On the one hand, it can be hard in suburban America to remember how much, in some societies, religion is a way of life, a very everyday thing--most strikingly to me among Muslims and Orthodox Jews. It's not so much about belief as about what you do and how you live, including food service, clothes, keeping clean, very ordinary stuff.
On the other, that's not all there is to religion, including Islam and Orthodox Judaism. There's something raw and powerful going on in God's appearance on Mt. Sinai, or in the Prophet's journey to the Uttermost Edge.
