More on my ongoing obsession with the human habit of digging holes. Since I now have a big dog who wants at least two walks a day, I have been exploring the nearby reaches of Patapsco State Park. And finding holes. The one above is easily explained, since it is right next this series of ramps for bmx bikes:
But this hole is quite mysterious. It is about 75 yards from the nearest house, and I see no sign of an older house nearby. It measures about 12 by 15 feet and even after all the dumping of leaves and grass clippings you can see, it is still about 3 feet deep. I guess somebody just felt like digging a hole.
