The Park Avenue Armory, Restored

The Park Avenue Armory was built in 1880 to house a National Guard Regiment officered by New York's elite. It was designed by Charles Clinton and decorated by a swathe of elite designers, including Louis Tiffany and Charles White. It is currently being restored by the Park Avenue Armory Conservancy at a cost of $200 million; the Conservancy plans to use the old drill room as an arts venue. These rooms were restored by Herzog & de Meuron.
