The Gairsoppa's Silver Comes Up

Last year I wrote about the discovery of the wreck of the SS Gairsoppa, a freighter that was sunk by a U-boat while carrying more than 90 tons of silver from India to Britain in 1941. Now Odyssey Marine has begun recovering the silver, and they say they have moved 48 tons to a secure facility in Britain. Odyssey has an agreement with the British government, which owns the silver and will get 20 percent of whatever Odyssey brings up.
