Baubles: the 18th-Century Treasures of Johann Christian Neuber

Images from an exhibit at the Frick Gallery of jeweled baubles by Johann Christian Neuber (1736-1808), made for the Saxon court in the 1760s and 1770s. More at the Times.

A small table decorated with many different semi-precious stones.

The last gasp of the Old Regime was accompanied by many fabulous trinkets.
