Scale Armor from the Steppes
The best preserved set of scale armor from the ancient world, now in the Met. It is made entirely of leather with hard (boiled) leather scales sewn to soft leather. From a looted tomb in the Ukraine, it can be dated only to the 8th to 3rd century BCE, which makes it most likely Scythian or Subeixi.
