The Cost of Solar Power is Falling Fast
Alexis Madrigal has the numbers: since 2006, the average total coast of a solar installation in the U.S. has fallen from $8.58 per watt to $5.91. You don't have to run that rate of decrease (just over 5% per year) out very far before solar power becomes cheaper than coal.
