In the heat of summer I usually get tired of working in my garden, and my plants wither away from heat the drought. So it looks like a sort of fading meadow through August. This year, though, the steady rains of July have prevented any die back, and my summer laziness has resulted instead in certain flowers growing completely out of control.
Especially the yellow and orange cosmos, which are mostly self-seeded.
I like the garden like this, but I wonder what the neighbors think.
