I was up in Sharpsburg, Maryland for a project kickoff meeting, and spend some time wandering the Antietam Battlefield. This is one of my favorite battlefields, because you can get such a good sense of the terrain where this confused, bloody battle took place.
Now it is a very beautiful place, studded with well-preserved nineteenth-century farms.
