Waves, and Farewell

Yesterday, our last day at the beach, we finally got some real waves. After a whole week of little waves that were fine for the 5 to 8-year-olds but no good for teenagers, a storm came through and kicked up some serious surf. The bigger waves were 8 or 9 feet high when they broke (2.5 m), chasing small children back up the beach but delighting the brave and bold.

Robert and his friend Alec contemplate a big breaker.

Big boys and girls out in the surf, getting smacked down and loving it.

It was too rough for the little kids to get out in the water, but even after breaking and rolling 30 feet up the beach the waves had enough strength to knock the little ones over. Ben and I run from a big one.

Clara goes in as far as she dares.

Goodbye, Rehoboth, until next time.
