The Trump Budget

I haven't said anything about Trump's budget proposal because I have no idea how likely any of it is to pass. But as for an overall view, I'm with David Brooks:
The Trump budget looks less like a political philosophy and more like a sexual fantasy. It lavishes attention on every aspect of hard power and slashes away at anything that isn’t.
Exactly. Everything for soldiers and spies, nothing for wimps like diplomats or namby-pamby stuff like job training.

And nothing at all for infrastructure, despite Trump and his man Bannon's repeated calls for a big, job-creating investment in highways and airports. What's up with that? Is Trump just being outmaneuvered by Ryan and his pals, or has he really decided he doesn't care and would rather have a tax cut?

Given the rumors of how broke he actually is and how deeply indebted to special interests, I would imagine he very much would rather have the tax cut, if only to make his leash holders happy.
