Where Do People Seek Moral Guidance?

I was struck by this tidbit from a big new poll of British Catholics:
Zero percent of British Catholics now look to religious leaders for guidance as they make decisions and live their lives. The majority say they rely on their own reason, judgement, intuition or feelings.
Not that I think anyone ought to look to the leaders of the British Catholic church for moral guidance, but even a champion of the Enlightenment like me has to wonder about a world in which we all rely on our own "intuition or feelings" in making moral decisions. Sometimes I get a little queasy about the world we are headed toward.
