The William Morris Gallery

Wonderful museum in Walthamstow, London celebrating the Arts and Crafts Movement, with a terrific web site. They just won a £100,000 "Museum of the Year" prize from The Art Fund, which I will celebrate by posting some works from their collection. Above, Attendant Angels by Henry Holiday, 1909.

Lion Rampant (1888) in tile by William de Morgan.

Maids of Honour (1900), embroidery by May Morris, William Morris's eldest daughter.

The Labours of the Months (1862), tile, designed by Ford Madox Brown, Edward Coley Burne-Jones , William Morris, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and Philip Webb. What a crew.

Chrysanthemums, wallpaper by William Morris.

Eve and the Virgin (1864), design for stained glass by William Morris.
