English Country House Libraries

I just know that if I could work in one of these I would be a hugely productive author and toss off book after book. How could you not? Above, Chatsworth.

Kingston Lacy House.

Calke Abbey.

Belton House.

Stourhead.

Scotney House.

Dunster Castle.

Most of these pictures come from the National Trust's Treasure Hunt blog.

My favorite is Dunster Castle for the light, airy space and the arrangement of the books.

But a close second is Calke Abbey which has a chaise longue to stretch out on with a good book.

What wonderful spaces these are!
