A Tengu Mask from Japan
This Japanese mask, forged from a single piece of iron, depicts an impish protective spirit called a tengu. It just sold at Bonhams in London for £121,250, even though nobody seems to know how old it is. The price was driven up from the estimate of £3500 by a fierce contest between rival bidders.
