Berndnaut Smilde's Artificial Clouds

Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde makes indoor clouds using a smoke machine, moisture, and clever lighting. And then takes photographs of them, because "each cloud exists only for a moment before dissipating." Above, Nimbus II, 2012.
