From Beneath the Waves

In Venezuela, a major drought had led to very low water levels in the nation's reservoirs. The Uribante reservoir has sunk so low that a whole town, flooded when the dam was built in the 1980s, has re-emerged.

This is one of my ideas for a mystery novel featuring my archaeologist-detective, Jack Gordon: as floodwaters recede, a town is exposed, and in one of the buildings a skeleton is found with an ax wound in his head. . . .
