The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has several John Singer Sargent paintings in classical modes, including both oil paintings like the one above, and frescoes executed in the rotunda in the 1920s.
One of the frescoes, Apollo in the chariot of the sun. I love this stuff, and it is worthwhile being reminded that the artists who were revolutionizing art in the late 1800s were very well trained in the classics.The Danaiads
