Tadashi Nakayama (1927-2014) was a Japanese printmaker who explored various mixtures of traditional Japanese imagery and techniques with abstraction and also other global styles such as Persian and Byzantine. Above, Butterfly B, 1991.
Three prints from Nakayama's Incarnation series, 1958.
Nakayama is the only Japanese artist I know of who is obsessed with horses. Two Horses toward the Wind, 1987.
