The Earth from Mars Orbit
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the wonderful spacecraft that has taken most of the images of Mars I have posted here over the years, took this image of the Earth and the Moon on November 20 from a distance of 127 million miles. The Moon looks close to the Earth because it is actually almost directly behind it.
