The Seed Man
This strange little object was made in Italy around 1600 and is now in the Walters Museum. According to them, these "seed men" were a common sort of novelty among rich Italians of the time; the curators relate them to the fruit and vegetable portraits painted by artists like Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
