Lunar Eclipse, October 8, 2014
I have a meeting this afternoon, so I drove to work this morning, and my path was lit by the lunar eclipse. When I left the house at 5:30 the moon was very bright in the dark sky, so I had a clear view of the early stages. The steadily darkening orb appeared regularly above the trees as I drove down I-95. These pictures were taken around 6:00, as I got off the Beltway in Washington. By the time I reached the office at 6:30 the sky was lightening and I had to stare to make out the final stages. I also saw five deer this morning and got a good look at a fox that ran across the street in front of me, right under a street light. So all in all it was a pretty nice drive.
