The Bloc Québécois looked poised to do well in provincial elections last week, until people started talking about another referendum on secession. They went down to an epic defeat, with 2/3 of voters opting for parties completely opposed to another referendum.
I count this as a great vote for sanity. How could a Canadian look around the world and think, gee, Canada is such a bad place to live that we need to embark on nationalist separatism like they have in the Balkans and Ukraine?
