It was a perfect Fall afternoon, and nobody was answering my emails, so I took a long lunchtime walk across Rock Creek into Georgetown.
The first leaves were turning, but the flowers were still bright and cheerful.
The Halloween decorations were up.
So of course I had to swing by my old friends the Halloween Lunatics of P Street.
Bright sunshine is not the best sort of light for creepy Halloween stuff, but we do what we can.
Their neighbors one block over went for the Giant Ninja effect.
No, that wasn't a trick of perspective.
I love the way new fallen maple leaves look on the brick sidewalks.
And then back to work, for a few more hours.
