While I'm on the subject of not-entirely-convincing psychological studies, let me reference this collection (more here) of studies about how the weather changes your mood. Research has shown that on sunny days, stock prices are higher, prices of art sold at auction are higher, people get in fewer fights, spend more money, and work more productively, and report much higher levels of happiness. On the other hand prospective students are more impressed by schools they visit when it is cloudy.
