A reminder that we live in the richest nation on the planet. And that our healthcare quality ranks dead last among peer nations, by a huge margin. And yet our healthcare costs rank first place among peer nation, also by a huge margin.
Additionally, a reminder that the overwhelming bulk of our extra costs (and worse treatment) are directly caused by our for-profit medical insurance system which prioritize investor ROI over the health of our citizens.
And that countries with socialized healthcare where people don't NEED insurance ultimately spend far less of their GDP on treating illness and injury, and get far better results in the process.
