Fifth Century Ship in Istanbul
This merchant ship was uncovered in 2011 during excavations at Yenikapı Marmaray for a new subway tunnel under the Bosporus in Istanbul; it dates to the fifth century CE and is about 50 feet (15 m) long. The entrance to the new tunnel is in an old harbor and 45 shipwrecks have been uncovered.
