Built in 1876 to 1888, the mosque is known as the Pink Mosque or the Colorful Mosque. It is perhaps best known for the use of stained glass windows in the prayer hall, unusual in a Muslim building, and for the riotous effects created by the colored light spilling across colored carpets and tiles. Perhaps not the most meditative decoration scheme, but certainly spectacular.

This reminds my of my husbands method of picking flowers for the garden according to a color plan. His plan is "they all go together, no matter what color they are!"
I use the same plan.
