New York City had a design contest to create less ugly scaffolding to protect people on sidewalks from falling debris while buildings are under renovation. The winner looks pretty good.
It remains to be seen if this design will reach the pinnacle of scaffolding success achieved by what was put up during the last renovation of the Washington Monument; people protested when this was taken down.
