Frost Bitten

I took this picture Wednesday in Frederick. It shows the brown edges left on the magnolia blooms by the frosts of the week before. These magnolias are eager to open their blossoms with the first warm sunshine, and about one year in three they open too far, too soon, and are bruised by the inevitable frosts of late March.
