In my interviews on the Square today, I interviewed lots of women and Christians, asking them if they felt any disquiet at the prospect that a more democratic Egypt might be a more fundamentalist, even repressive country. Overwhelmingly they said no – and often looked reproachful at my lack of faith in democracy.
