Rama's Army

Click to enlarge. I know nothing about this image, which was brought to me by Stumble at a site that seemed to allow no other access. I just think it's cool. If anybody recognizes this work and can tell me who did it or how old it is, please let me know.

It's "Rama's Army Crosses the Ocean to Lanka." It is a depiction of a scene from the Ramacharitamanas of Goswami Tulsidas, one of the great epics of Indian literature. The poem is from the 16th century and the art is late 18th - and I am a big fan of it, too.

This was at the British Museum recently, on loan from a museum in Jodhpur - a super-cool museum (the Mehrangarh museum trust at Mehrangarh Fort).
