Boy, it sure did make a Venn diagram, and then select text excerpts from sources tagged as "novel" / "clever" / "funny" in its database, and then stick bits and pieces from those sources into the diagram at random, didn't it?
I'm reminded of a certain long-running three-panel webcomic that has a "comic remix" button, where (using a laughably simple bit of scripting) it will randomly choose three old strips from their archives, take one panel from each of them, and stitch them together. Sometimes the results are amusing. But when they are, it's pure accident. There's no intellect involved, no decisions being made, no awareness of anything, and no sense of humor in play. The only difference between that and "AI" is the complexity of the scripting and the size of the databases being drawn from.

I recently heard someone sum up AI very neatly:
It cannot extrapolate. It can only interpolate.
"Funny", like Reddit "funny"
Do child "ghosts" sprint down hallways?
