From the website of the Tsargrad TV network, on the latest Russian attack on a Ukrainian hospital:
Such enemies [Ukrainians] cannot be considered human. We must recognize this — simply and terrifyingly: there are no humans on the other side. Not a single person. Our missiles do not kill people. Not a single person. There are no humans out there.
If we do not accept this as a given, if we do not forbid ourselves from considering them as humans, from pitying them, and from saving them — we will weaken ourselves. We will limit our ability to save our children. We will hinder our path to Victory.

I love the mental gymnastics.
They aren't human! And yet, they are "a brotherly people"!
They aren't human! And yet, they "need saved"!

Russia is like an angry drunkard beating his wife and children for trying to leave him; insisting that his victims "force" him to do it; that they don't "respect" him properly; that they are "betraying the family" by not obeying his every command; and that he is only hurting them because he "loves them so very much" and wants to "help" them... but somehow at the same time, they're also worthless ingrates who don't deserve his "love" or "help", and they're "lucky" he beats them to "put them in their place", because without him they "couldn't survive".
A rule of War: Demonize your enemy. All wars. Japs, Gooks, Jerries, etc. Socially: Witches, demon possessions, etc. Absolves the killers of guilt, gets the mobs riled up and feeling good about their actions. We see it all around us in the absolution of the January 6th mob. “If I did it, it must be righteous!”
