Bronze Age Sippy Cups


From  Austria, 1200-800 BCE. Some of them are saturated with fatty acids from milk, so it's pretty clear what they are. These were all recovered from infant burials.

Saw these posted somewhere else a while back. They're so sweet, and so sad... "infant graves" means those were the kids who didn't make it. One suspects these objects are less "sippy cup" and more "last ditch effort to save the nursing kid after its Mama died".
