Damien Hirst, Demon with Bowl

Critics are mostly panning Damien Hirst's new exhibit in Venice, Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable. ArtNews called it  "undoubtedly one of the worst exhibitions of contemporary art staged in the past decade." But this Colossus, titled Demon with Bowl, is cool.

Hirst is not only a talentless hack, but also a bully and an awful human being. He exemplifies so very much of the worst aspects of the modern art world.

My first thought was "what part of this thing is *found* art?"

I find it hard to believe that any part of this was sculpted, in any traditional sense, by Damien Hirst.

No doubt Hirst raised the money and sketched out the big ideas and had his staff of poorly paid assistants and students do the actual labor.
