Ancient Shoes
Archaeologists working in an Egyptian temple dating to around 2000 years ago found an intact urn which contained seven shoes made out of cow leather. The five shoes above, one adult, two child-sized, and two toddler-sized, were wrapped together in a bundle. I suppose these were an offering by some family, and it is fascinating to speculate what sort of trouble inspired them to offer shoes to the gods.
