But somewhere in the world somebody saw it and took this picture, which shows a bit of the earth's shadow -- so a blue moon and a partial eclipse, which must be a very rare event indeed. The Blue Moon
There was a blue moon on New Year's Eve, which I didn't see at all because it was sleeting here.
